The Lord of the Rings by JRR. Tolkien, His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling and the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis all finished in the top 10 of the BBC’s Big Read poll.

The Big Read series was broadcast on BBC Two from 18 October to 13 December 2003.
