The story is classic fantasy, think Star Wars with dragons.
When Eragon finds a polished blue gem, he hopes to sell it to help support his family. When he discovers that it is in fact a dragon’s egg his life changes and tragedy, adventure and loss enter Eragon’s once simple life.
Paolini wrote the books when he was still only a teenager and they will appeal to both young and fully-grown adults. If the Harry Potter series brought you joy then The Inheritance Cycle may be able to do just the same and help blow the post-Potter blues away.
