Philip Pullman delights Oxford

Fantasy author Philip Pullman drew a crowd of 700 fans to his sold out evening at the Oxford Town Hall. Pullman is publicising his new book, Once Upon A Time in the North which features two characters from his popular His Dark Materials trilogy.

The main hall and the galleries were packed in the town hall with children and adults eager to hear the author discussing his works. After the talk a queue formed back to the doors to have Philip Pullman sign copies of the new pocket sized book, Lyra’s Oxford.

The event forms part of the Oxford Literary Festival and the crowd were surprised to discover just how funny Mr Pullman was.
