The movie adaptation of Philip Pullman’s fantasy book Northern Lights, entitled The Golden Compass was voted the worst film adaptation by Entertainment Weekly. Although the film itself was a relative success at the box office critics and fans of the book were less than complementary. The Da Vinci Code was placed second, Fever Pitch third, Memoirs of a Geisha fourth and A Sound of Thunder fifth.
