Signed first-edition Harry Potter up for auction

A singed, first edition Harry Potter by JK Rowling will be the star prize in a charity auction in Perth next week. Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service, which is currently making the finishing preparations for its Touch of Tartan charity ball on August the 29th, is inviting bids for the rare copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, worth over £500.

The event will be held in Perth’s Salutation Hotel and will include a civic reception hosted by Perth and Kinross Council, fine dining, and Scottish melodies from the Gallivanters. Perthshire actor Andy Gray will be the auctioneer. The event is being widely supported by a host of local businesses.

Interested bidders can contact Helen MacKinnon at the Gateway, North Methven Street on 01738 567076, or e-mail helen.mackinnon@pkavs.org.uk. Sealed bids from any book enthusiasts who are not attending the event must be received before noon on August 28.

JK Rowling kindly donated the signed first edition for the auction.

Twilight movie trailer

TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change.
