Remember, remember, the 5th of December

The British Fantasy Society will be holding a Christmas Open Night on the 5th of December. Members and non-members are invited to the Ye Olde Cock Tavern in London for pre-festive cheer from 6pm onwards. The event will help raise money for St. Mungo’s Homeless Charity.

Dave McKean, the English illustrator, photographer and comic book artist, very graciously signed copies of this year’s FantasyCon Souvenir Programme and there are also a handful of very nice posters for Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book; two sets of which will be handed out to lucky ticket holders on the night. Extra special gifts include books donated by PS Publishing, Gollancz, Tasmaniac, and Nightshade Books.

The British Fantasy Society exists to promote and enjoy the genres of fantasy, science fiction and horror in all its forms. The British Weird Fantasy Society began in 1971 as an off-shoot of the British Science Fiction Association. The ‘Weird’ was soon dropped and the BFS was born. Dedicated to the promotion of all that is best in the Fantasy and Horror genres, the BFS is both influential and well respected among genre publishers in the UK and America and have many well known authors as members, not least our president Ramsey Campbell.

Twilight movie trailer

TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change.
