School children design bookmark for the Prince of Wales

School children in Salisbury have been hard at work coming up with an image for a bookmark which will be going out alongside a book to honour the Prince of Wales’s 60th birthday. The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts invited children from Sarum St Paul’s Primary School to design the back of the bookmark which will go out alongside The Birthday Book in honour of the prince’s birthday. The chosen design was created by Sarum St Paul’s pupil, Hattie.

Fifteen other designs have been created by some of the schools that Children & the Arts help across the UK which will also be made into bookmarks.

The Birthday Book, edited by Michael Morpurgo and Quentin Blake, two of Children & the Arts’ long standing ambassadors, is a treasury of birthday themed stories from over 50 of the UK’s finest authors and illustrators including Philip Pullman, JK Rowling, Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo, Quentin Blake, Philip Ardagh, Eoin Colfer, Anne Fine, Eleanor Updale, Posy Simmonds and Axel Scheffler.

Published by Random House on November 6 the book will help raise money for Children & the Arts, which works to provide access to the arts for children who would otherwise not have the opportunity.

The bookmarks will be distributed to independent bookshops and libraries across the UK and copies of The Birthday Book are on sale in bookshops and online.

TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change.
