Another possible new JK Rowling?
Fiona Salter won a story-writing competition for children’s TV channel Nickelodeon after telling tales of dragons to her young son. The mum-of-two went to university with JK Rowling, the Harry Potter author – who also began her story-writing career by entertaining her young children. Fiona usually writes for adults, but took inspiration for her son Theo, three, and baby daughter Romilly, one, to write Dragon Manners. Although she was at Exeter University at the same time as JK Rowling, who has made millions from her Harry Potter adventures, Fiona is not getting big ideas.
Dragon Manners will be read out on the Nick Jr channel next week as part of its Once Upon A Bedtime campaign.
