Pooh bear images to go on sale at Sotheby’s
Twenty-one of Winnie-the-Pooh’s original illustrations by E. H. Shepard are to go on sale.
It’s extremely rare to see the original images as most are now held in private collections, but they will be auctioned on Wednesday at Sotheby’s in London and are expected to fetch several hundred thousand pounds.
While his creator was the author AA Milne, it was Shepard who was responsible for the much loved visual image we have of him.
