Dakota Fanning confirmed for New Moon
Dakota Fanning will appear in the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon it has been confirmed. The 15-year-old starlet will be playing the role of Jane, from the Italian vampire clan Volturi, the "royalty" of vampire world in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series for young adults. Jane is described as "a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior."
Fanning had been in talks to appear in the film ever since she was offered the role in January.
Upon hearing the news, fans of the vampire love story showed their full support on the new cast and even sent a petition to the moviemakers saying that the young actress would perfectly fit as Jane. Shooting for the movie, which will be directed by Chris Weitz, starts later this month in Vancouver. The movie will hit theatres in the US in November.
