Harry Potter goes to Wales
Among the sand dunes of Freshwater West, one of Wales’ top surfing beaches, a cottage has been built out of shells for the the latest Harry Potter film. Over the weekend hundreds of Harry Potter fans visited the beach to see the set which has been built for the film.
The Pembrokeshire National Park Authority said while filming would cause some disruption, the beach and coastal path would be kept open. Road closures will be in place for the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows between May 11 and 15. Based on the final book in the series by JK Rowling, it is being split into two parts set for release in 2010 and 2011.
JK Rowling was born in the town of Yate, South Gloucestershire in 1965. She is the most successful literary author of all time and her world-famous Harry Potter series has so far sold a staggering 400,000,000 copies worldwide and has been translated into over sixty five different languages.
