Lauren Kate’s Fallen series acquired by Random House Children’s Books


Random House Children’s Books has acquired the first four titles in the Fallen series by Lauren Kate. The deal, made with sister company Random House Inc in New York, was for a major six figure sum. The books will be rushed into production, with the first title published this winter on both sides of the Atlantic.

Featuring angels and menacing demons, FALLEN will appeal to the Stephenie Meyer generation.

The two realise that they have spent their lifetimes finding and losing one another, and face the final challenge to keep evil forces at bay and seek redemption for all.

RHCB is planning an aggressive marketing and publicity campaign in the UK to launch the series which will be published in December 2009.

Lauren Kate is finishing her MA in Creative Writing at the University of California.

I really enjoyed Fallen, it had me hooked from the start. I’m halfway through Torment and enjoying the journey with Luce. Please make sure this series is turned into movies, it totally deserves to be set on the big screen.

I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down, I was up all night to finish it. Torment will be the same, I just feel it, and any that follow in the series I’m sure the same will apply. This book doesn’t compare to the Twilight Saga, this is fallen angels and Twilight is vampires but they are just as good as each other in their own categories.
The Twilight Saga is a must read as well as anything by Lauren Kate – she is awsome and I can’t wait to read more. I would love to see this series turned into movies.
