Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood rule out the Rings
Harry Potter fans who hoped actor Daniel Radcliffe would take the lead role in the prequel films to the Lord of the Rings trilogy will be disappointed to hear he has snubbed the chance.
He said: "I’d have to say, ‘Thanks but no thanks,’ not that anyone has asked me. Honestly, I don’t think they would want me anyway, it’s just too close. Whatever I do next, I don’t think there will be any wizards in it!" (Bromley Times)
Elijah Wood said that he would have to respectfully decline if the opportunity came about.
"I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to do it. I think it would feel wrong to embody a different character, even if they are related. Conceivably you could make the argument that the story takes place many years earlier and maybe they look like each other. But I just don’t see it. I feel like I’ve done so much to establish Frodo that it wouldn’t feel right. If there was another way for Frodo to exist on some level in one of those movies, I would certainly be totally excited about doing that. But I don’t think that’s going to happen." said Wood. (KCRA)

Special Feature: Understanding the author of Alice in Wonderland

Lewis Carroll, the elusive author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, has been the subject of enduring fascination for the past hundred years. The destruction of many major documents about his personal life by his descendants has only magnified the mystery. Jenny Woolf's biography, published to coincide with the release of the new Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland film, lays waste to the myths and suspicions that have obscured Carroll's reputation by placing him firmly in the context of his own time.
