Death Eater donates first editions of Harry Potter to the British Heart Foundation

Actor Michael Thompson, who plays a Death Eater in the latest Harry Potter movie, has donated the complete set of Harry Potter first editions to the British Heart Foundation charity shop in Keighley.

For the past few years Mr Thompson has been collecting first editions of JK Rowling’s famous books. They are currently being valued by British Heart Foundation experts and are likely to be auctioned on eBay.

Mr Thompson decided to donate books after his mother, Noreen, was fitted with a pacemaker for her heart. He has about 60 Harry Potter books at home but admits that even after taking part in filming, he has never read any of the stories.

He is one of about 20 Death Eaters appearing in The Deathly Hallows. Mr Thompson’s stint ends next month but filming will continue until next June. The film will be released in cinemas in two separate parts.
