House of Illustration and The Folio Society announce 2nd book illustration competition

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Book Illustration Competition ‘Getting Inside The Outsider’, House of Illustration and The Folio Society have announced a second competition, this time to illustrate The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter.

Entrants (must be over 18 and unpublished by the Folio Society) are invited to submit three illustrations (one illustration for each of these stories only – The Bloody Chamber, Puss-in-Boots and The Company of Wolves) and a binding design for the book. The deadline for entries will be Tuesday 10^th January 2012.

The winning entry, judged by a panel of experts, will become a prestigious commission worth £4,000, to complete the illustrations for the book (winner will be required to expand the collection to a total of 7 illustrations for publication), which will be published by The Folio Society in the summer of 2012. Five runners up will each receive £500 cash.

The winner and runners up will be announced in July 2012 on publication of the book.
